Not missing honest...

So I am a bad blogger - I have been snowed under at work recently and have had no creative energy left. I love blogging and appreciate all the lovely comments and time people take in reading my posts. I just never wanted to post what I thought were not so great posts, just for the sake of posting, so I am taking a little blogger break...I don't know how other people manage this?

So for just now I am taking a little break whilst I am so busy with work. I will still be reading everyone else's amazing blogs, feeling inspired and hopefully in a few weeks will be back on track with my own. Please stay tuned, love Taffeta Ramblings xxx

Hello sunshine!

It has reached that time when you hope everything fits in your case & I will be deploying Mr Taffeta Ramblings to sit on the case to squish in all those things that I accidentally purchased ( I was helping the French & Italian economies really!) I had a great holiday & am relieved to hear that the sunshine is gracing the UK with its presence - that should ease my post-holiday blues. Thought I would share some of my cheeky holiday snapshots (they are mostly of food mind you - post holiday diet anyone?)

We drank lots of kir, did lots of eating ( I am a big fan of balcony dinner parties - thinking I need a balcony now), sampling local cuisine (too much Limoncello for me, I saw stars!), taking in culture in Monaco, coveting vintage Vuitton, celebrating Le Quatorze with fireworks galore and lots of beach sitting & trashy novel reading. All in all a good way to spend a couple of weeks! Is it too early to start thinking about booking another one? xxx

Today I am wearing...Italian style

So I am suitably assured that the sunshine has found the UK at long last, which really is just as well as I am being forced to return home to normal life, why I ask? I am so good at being a lady in the sunshine - a little day tripping, a little swim, a little g&t drinking of an afternoon, a little factor 50...

Mr Taffeta Ramblings & I packed the car for a little explore into Italy (mostly he was in it for the food), with the car top down & Lana del Rey playing, we drove a long the coast & stopped in a little town for some wandering and shop strolling - there was a Sisley on every corner. My only complaint about Italy is that you have to plan your shopping well, not sure I could exist in a place in which the shops shut 12-4, though it would cure my lunchtime smash & grab approach to shopping! For Italian exploring I wore:

(dress- asos, necklace - h&m, bag - vintage, shoes - Topshop, sunglasses - eBay)

Sampling the Italian cafe culture

Today I'm Wearing...holiday part deux

It has been a difficult old week what with all the book reading & ice cream eating. I really think I am built to be a lady of leisure. Last night I decided to pop to Italy for some pizza and ice cream eating - I really must learn the Italian secret - how can they eat all the pasta/pizza/gelato & still look so amazing when I see them (men & women) in only their thongs on the beach? Maybe it is because they don't approach it in the same way that I do, like it is a going out of business sale & I think I should have one of everything. Anyways I think on that note I should meander down for a swim! For pizza & all the rest that Italy had to offer I was wearing (please note the stretchy waistband!):

(dress - Spitalfields market, bag - Balenciaga, sandals - Urban Outfitters)

The amazing Italian 'primavera' pizza - delicioso!

Today I'm wearing...holiday edition

Apologies for the late post, I made it to holiday time & am currently lying on the beach in the thirty degree heat & occasionally dipping my toe in the Med to cool down. I am enjoying the down time, my biggest concern is how many swims to fit in before dinner or whether to have the kir or the kir royale - not too shabby a way to spend the week. I hope the sunshine has made it to the UK shores & you are all having a good week. For holiday ice cream eating I wore:

(dress - Appletree Boutique London, bag - Mulberry, shoes - Topshop)
Off to decide what book to delve into today, hard choices I know xxx

Summer dreaming

I am deep in holiday packing, day dreaming of blue skies & ice cream eating (mostly since the view outside my office window is so dismal!) Nothing like the thought of sunshine & lying under a big sun umbrella to keep your mind off work. I fully admit to being a sunshine lover, it makes me all kinds of happy & ideally I would love to be living somewhere were sunscreen was necessary most days. Until then & my fast approaching holiday I will keep day dreaming & be inspired by:

Today I'm Wearing...

It seems to be Monday again, living in the land of always Monday & never Friday. So I can't be alone in wondering what happened to summer and the dreams I had of floaty dresses, wicker baskets and open-toed sandals? At the moment I am more contemplating how to dress to accessorise my permanent umbrella! But at least I have the thoughts of holiday times this week to keep me going. The thought of wearing a bikini & swimming in the Med, makes the grey start to the week almost bearable. For a lazy Sunday I wore:

(dress - h&m, jacket - vintage Levis, booties - Clarks, belt - vintage, scarf - Zara, bucket bag - vintage - stack of magazines for coffee reading)

Miu Miu loving

As if Miu Miu wasn't a lust worthy enough brand, they have only gone & teamed up with Miss Chloe Sevigny for their latest campaign. The 70s infused shots capture the brand's upcoming A/W collection. I am a big fan of 'Big Love' and also of Miss Sevigny's 'never has to try too hard to look effortlessly amazing' style. Previous campaigns have featured Katie Holmes, Vanessa Paradis, Maggie Gyllenhaul & Lindsay Lohan, but there is something about this pairing & the fact that Chloe is in my eyes a style icon rather than just a celebrity name/model attached to the brand. What does everyone think of the latest Miu Miu lady?
