Did we have our summer already? It seems like last week's heatwave was a tropical aberration that I dreamt up. This week has passed me by in a haze, especially after starting on a Wednesday, I can't be the only to find it difficult to get set for the working week on a Wednesday. What did everyone else get up to this week after the super extended weekend?

Pictures of my week:

1. I was lucky enough to attend a bloggers get together that was organised by the wonderful Mabel's Log. I have been a longtime fan of the blog & it was spiffing to meet the girls in person (they also did an amazing job of hosting). It was a lovely evening filled with tea, amazing cakes (a big thank you to Where the Monkey Sleeps for having us) & chat of all things blog. It sometimes feels like if you live outside of London that there isn't much of a blogger community spirit, I hope this is the start of many more get togethers as it was lovely to meet so many friendly people & especially when so many of them are my blogging inspiration.

2. Eating ice-cream as soon as the sun makes even a hint of an appearance. This was taken in the new Nardini's cafe on Byres Rd, with a long standing history of ice cream making it didn't disappoint - I would recommend the mandarin sorbet (& I mean that has to be healthy right?)

3. Mr Taffeta Ramblings & I have reached the age when we spend our weekends going to weddings. It's lovely really all the confetti throwing, champagne toasting & picture posing, but it is not so good for the wardrobe & always causes me the girliest of panics (what if I wear the same as someone else, what if they saw me when I shock horror may have worn this before, what if black at a wedding is as hideously offensive as my granny tells me, though you can't wear white/beige/red anyways...) Needless to say it was a good day, the sun even appeared & the happy couple were married in the glorious surrounds of a castle.
4 & 5. This week I have also been enjoying the graffiti style banter whilst out & about. I like that these kind of things always make me stop & smile.

6. I spent most of the holiday weekend cake eating, book reading, tea drinking & generally not doing anything too strenuous. I think it really should be an annual thing, bank holiday weekends are just never going to seem long enough after this bumper weekend. I hope everyone had a jolly time whatever they got up to. xxx
